Dear Esteemed Chamber Subscribers,
May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
Asharqia Chamber extends its warmest greetings to you and would like to inform you that it has received the letter of the Federation of Saudi Chambers No. (45548632/19), dated (18/11/1447 AH), referring to the letter of the Saudi Ports Authority No. (1/38/27254), dated (5/11/1447 AH), attached to the Authority’s Circular No. (13) of 2026 regarding the mandatory use of pallets in the shipping and stowage of goods arriving in containers, which refers to Saudi Ports Authority Circular No. (6) of 2025 regarding the mandatory application of the use of pallets in the shipping and stowage of goods arriving in containers at the Kingdom’s ports effective (1/6/2026). Based on the Authority’s regulatory and supervisory responsibilities and its keenness to enhance the efficiency of operational processes at the ports and the smooth flow of supply chains, and in view of the growing pressure currently facing global supply chains as a result of
the geopolitical developments in the region, the Authority has decided to proceed as follows:
First: Postponement of the entry into force of the mandatory use of pallets in the shipping and stowage of goods arriving in containers until further notice.
Second: This circular takes effect from the date of its issuance and supersedes anything that conflicts with it.
For your information.
