Asharqia Chamber extends its warmest greetings to you and would like to inform you that it has received an email from the Federation of Saudi Chambers dated 28/09/1447 AH, attached to the Ministry of Commerce telegram No. (26640), dated 26/9/1447 AH, which refers to the telegram of His Excellency the CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority No. (1/38645), dated 23/09/1447 AH, which includes the Authority’s monitoring of international reports on food safety in the countries of the world. Based on the immediate notification report issued by the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) on 06/09/1447 AH, corresponding to 23/02/2026, which states that highly pathogenic avian influenza has broken out in the province of (Buenos Aires) in the Republic of Argentina.
Whereas the Authority’s Decision No. (1/38527), dated 23/09/1447 AH, corresponding to 12/03/2026, was issued imposing a temporary ban on the import of poultry meat, table eggs, and their products from the province of ( Buenos Aires) in the Republic of Argentina.
Excluded from this temporary ban are poultry meat, table eggs, and their products that have undergone heat treatment sufficient to eliminate the highly pathogenic avian influenza virus, provided that they conform to the approved health requirements and standard specifications, and are accompanied by a health certificate issued by the official authorities accredited in the country proving that the product is free of the virus causing the disease or that it has been eliminated .
