Temporary Ban on Importing Poultry from the French Republic

Asharqia Chamber extends its warmest greetings to you and would like to inform you that it has received the letter of the Federation of Saudi Chambers No. (45544207/19), dated (6/8/1447 AH), which includes the Federation’s receipt of an urgent telegram from the Ministry of Commerce No. ( 21718), dated (30/7/1447 AH), which refers to the telegram of His Excellency the CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority No. ( 31246/1), dated (26/7/1447 AH), regarding the Saudi Food and Drug Authority’s monitoring of international reports on food safety in the countries of the world. Based on the immediate notification report issued by the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) on (11/7/1447 AH), corresponding to (31/12/2025), which states that highly pathogenic avian influenza has broken out in the department of ( Cotes-dArmor ) in the French Republic, the Authority’s Decision No. ( 30263/1), dated (22/7/1447 AH), corresponding to (11/1/2026), was issued imposing a temporary ban on the import of poultry meat, table eggs, and their products from the department of (Cotes-dArmor ) in the French Republic. Excluded from this temporary ban are poultry meat, table eggs, and their products that have undergone heat treatment sufficient to eliminate highly pathogenic avian influenza, provided that they conform to the approved health requirements and standard specifications, and are accompanied by a health certificate issued by the official authorities accredited in the French Republic proving that the product is free of the virus causing the disease or that it has been eliminated.
