Dear Chamber Subscribers Esteemed

May the peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.

Asharqia Chamber extends its warmest regards to you and informs you that it has received the letter from the Federation of Saudi Chambers No. (45557527/20), dated (02/05/1448 AH), referring to the Ministry of Commerce letter No. (8412), dated (26/4/1448 AH), corresponding to (October 7, 2026), and further to its letter No. (28174), dated (21/10/1447 AH). This follows the letter from His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services and Chairman of the Board of the Transport General Authority No. (2857/48/1), dated (25/4/1448 AH), which supplements His Excellency’s letter No. (5527/47/1), dated (16/10/1447 AH). The letter states that the Transport General Authority is working to support the land freight transport sector. In light of the increased demand for land freight transport services as a result of current circumstances, and to ensure the continuity of the sector’s operations, the Authority has undertaken a number of initiatives aimed at enabling the sector and meeting anticipated demand. One of the most prominent of these initiatives is allowing establishments licensed to engage in heavy goods transportation for commercial purposes (“for the establishment’s own account”) to contract for the transportation of goods for third parties.

As the Board of Directors of the Transport General Authority issued Decision No. (1/11T R/2026/4), dated (18/4/1448 AH), approving an extension of the permission granted to service providers engaged in heavy goods transportation for commercial purposes (“for the establishment’s own account”) to contract for the transportation of goods they do not own, provided that a transport document is issued for each shipment transported. This exceptional permission will remain in effect until (17/10/1448 AH), corresponding to (March 25, 2027).

Please accept our sincere regards and appreciation.
