Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, opened on Tuesday the ninth edition of the “Crafts and Handicrafts Exhibition,” organized by Asharqia Chamber at the Dhahran Expo exhibition center.
At the start of the ceremony, His Highness the Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province toured the exhibition’s pavilions, where he met a number of male and female artisans and listened to an explanation of their products and creativity. His Highness commended the works and products presented by the participants, which reflect the richness of local talent and the diversity of crafts and handicrafts, and affirmed the importance of supporting artisans, productive families, and small project owners, and enabling them to develop their businesses and expand the presence of their products, in a way that enhances their contribution to economic activity and opens wider opportunities for growth and sustainability.
Chairman of Asharqia Chamber’s Board of Directors, Mr. Fahad bin Abdullah Al-Farraj, expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Governor of the Eastern Province for his patronage and continued support of the exhibition, affirming that the opening of the exhibition by His Highness the Deputy Governor represents an incentive to continue developing the exhibition and elevating its outcomes year after year. He explained that since the launch of the exhibition’s first edition in 2015, Asharqia Chamber has been keen to turn it into a leading platform bringing together craft and handicraft business owners, productive families, and visual artists, providing them with a suitable space to display their creations, introduce their products, and reach a new audience of consumers.
Al-Farraj affirmed that the Crafts and Handicrafts Exhibition embodies the national direction toward empowering the crafts and handicraft industries sector and enhancing its contribution to the national economy, as one of the sectors rich in energies and talents capable of creating new economic opportunities. He noted that Asharqia Chamber will continue to adopt initiatives, programs, and events that serve craft owners, productive families, and entrepreneurs, and contribute to providing a more suitable environment for the growth of their projects, opening wider horizons for them toward empowerment and sustainability and turning individual talents into economic projects with a tangible impact.
Al-Farraj explained that the exhibition is one of the most prominent and largest specialized events for supporting and empowering artisans, visual artists, handicraft business owners, and productive families in the Eastern Province. It gives them a wide space to showcase their talents and products to a diverse audience, helping strengthen their presence in the market and introduce local products, in addition to providing the opportunity to communicate directly with visitors and learn about their needs and preferences.
At the end of the ceremony, His Highness the Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province honored the exhibition’s sponsors, supporters, and success partners, in appreciation of their contributions to the success of this event and their support of its goals aimed at empowering artisans and productive families and strengthening the presence of their products in the market.
The exhibition features the participation of more than 300 male and female exhibitors representing an elite of craft and handicraft business owners and productive families, who present through their pavilions a wide and varied range of products and handmade works that reflect the richness and diversity of local talent.
