Governor of the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority “Monsha’at,” Mr. Sami bin Ibrahim Al-Hussaini, met with Chairman of Asharqia Chamber’s Board of Directors, Mr. Fahad bin Abdullah Al-Farraj, and members of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, to enhance institutional integration and strategic partnership between the two parties, discuss ways to develop the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the region, and examine mechanisms for enabling small and medium enterprises to benefit from promising advantages and investment opportunities.
During the meeting, the Governor of “Monsha’at” affirmed that the Eastern Province represents a fertile entrepreneurial environment and possesses competitive strengths and qualitative incentives that support the expansion of enterprises and their sustainable growth. He noted that, through these meetings, the Authority seeks to align national efforts to overcome challenges and facilitate entrepreneurs’ access to markets, as well as financing and operational solutions.
The Governor of “Monsha’at” also held a meeting with entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises in the region to identify the challenges they may face, facilitate the growth of their businesses, and review supporting initiatives to enhance the efficiency of startups. He emphasized the Authority’s commitment to providing an environment that stimulates innovation and entrepreneurship, supports the growth of enterprises, and ensures their sustainability and competitiveness.
For his part, the Chairman of Asharqia Chamber stated that the state has adopted an ambitious vision to advance the small and medium enterprises sector, based on comprehensive legislative, regulatory, and development pillars. At its core, this vision aims to restructure the sector and enhance its efficiency, so that it becomes a key pillar in the path of comprehensive economic and social development. He pointed to the national economy’s overall growth of 4.5%, driven by the qualitative growth of non-oil activities by 4.9%, which is the sector that represents the largest incubator for small and medium enterprises.
This meeting comes as part of a series of meetings organized by “Monsha’at” with chambers of commerce and male and female entrepreneurs across the Kingdom’s various regions, to create an entrepreneurial environment that stimulates growth, innovation, and sustainability.
