Chairman of Asharqia Chamber’s Board of Directors, Fahad bin Abdullah Al-Farraj, affirmed that the committees of “Asharqia Chamber” in their twentieth term will set out with a renewed vision for innovating initiatives and strengthening the region’s economic leadership, noting that they bring together an elite of national talent capable of innovating high-quality initiatives and programs and offering unconventional solutions.
Asharqia Chamber’s committees and business councils in their twentieth term are preparing to hold their first sessions early next week, which will see the election of a chairman and a vice chairman for each committee, with the aim of completing the organizational structure of 17 sector committees and business councils, in activation of the tasks entrusted to them in stimulating economic activity and supporting the targets of Vision 2030, and in embodiment of the momentum witnessed by the electoral process, ensuring effective participation and its completion.
Al-Farraj said that during this period the Chamber will see greater activation of digital tools and interactive meetings, to ensure an immediate response to changes in global and local markets, consolidating the Eastern Province’s position as a leading capital of industry and the economy.
Al-Farraj explained that the role entrusted to these committees and councils goes beyond a representative role to an executive one, aimed at diagnosing the challenges of the business sector, crafting solutions, and innovating initiatives that ensure the sustainable growth of the business sector.
He affirmed that the Chamber’s strength lies in the vitality of its committees, as the bridge connecting the aspirations of the business sector with decision-makers, to ensure a stimulating, future-ready investment environment. He pointed out that the cumulative gains achieved by the Chamber over past decades were the fruit of a genuine partnership between the Board of Directors, the sector committees, and the business councils, which in their current term comprise more than 292 members who will work on formulating initiatives and offering solutions that serve the members and support the growth of their investments.
Al-Farraj noted that the sector committees and business councils cover a wide spectrum of economic activities, through specialized committees and councils, to ensure comprehensive coverage of all the needs of the business sector. The business councils in the governorates will also work on promoting balanced development and developing local investment.
The Chamber’s committees and business councils comprise 17 sector committees and councils, namely: the Industry and Energy Committee, the Commercial Committee, the Contracting Committee, the Logistics Committee, and the Real Estate and Urban Development Committee, in addition to the Health Committee, the Communications and Information Technology Committee, the Environment Committee, the Education and Training Committee, the Finance Committee, the Agriculture and Food Committee, the Hospitality Committee, the Women’s Centers Committee, and the Tourism Committee, whose establishment the Board of Directors approved to strengthen the region’s identity in the tourism and entertainment track, as well as business councils in the governorates of Qatif, Jubail, and Khafji, to ensure comprehensive coverage of all the needs of the private sector.
