Asharqia Chamber held on the evening of Wednesday, March 11, 2026, its annual General Assembly meeting, chaired by Chairman of the Board of Directors Fahad bin Abdullah Al-Farraj and attended by Board members, a number of the Chamber’s members, and representatives of government entities and various bodies. During the meeting, the Chamber’s annual report and the financial statements for 2025 were approved.
Al-Farraj affirmed that the accelerating developments and qualitative achievements the national economy is witnessing, in light of the targets of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, drive the Chamber’s Board of Directors and its executive body to redouble their efforts and formulate action plans in keeping with the requirements of the current stage, especially with the growing role of the private sector in the structure of the national economy. He noted the Chamber’s keenness to launch innovative initiatives, programs, and activities that keep pace with the Vision’s targets.
Al-Farraj explained that during 2025 the Chamber was able to achieve a number of successes and accomplishments that strengthen its role in serving the business sector and maintain its excellence in looking after the sector’s interests, in line with its vision and mission of achieving leadership and excellence. He noted that last year saw the launch of many initiatives, the organization of forums, and the opening of channels of dialogue on multiple economic issues, affirming that it was a year full of achievements.
He explained that the Chamber works according to an ambitious plan in line with the national direction toward economic diversification, noting that the number of the Chamber’s members rose last year to 153,891, in parallel with continuous work on developing the services provided to businessmen, businesswomen, and entrepreneurs and enhancing their efficiency and professionalism.
He noted that the Chamber’s sector committees and development councils continued to perform their role in supporting the business environment, carrying out 244 activities last year that addressed the various issues and challenges facing the business sector, through 17 committees and business councils. The committees sector also organized 84 programs and workshops, in addition to 80 visits, hostings, and meetings with officials, 63 meetings, two working-team meetings, and 14 expanded meetings.
As part of the Chamber’s role as a platform for communication and building economic partnerships, in 2025 it organized a number of forums, gatherings, and exhibitions, most notably the KSA Connect forum, the Jubail Investment Forum, the Qatif Investment Forum, and the Smart Cities and Sustainability Forum, alongside the Jobs Fair, the Crafts and Handicrafts Exhibition, and the Entrepreneurship Forum and Exhibition, in addition to the annual business sector reception and a number of meetings with ministers and senior officials of government entities and national companies.
On the economic studies side, Al-Farraj explained that the Chamber prepared 47 specialized research papers, studies, and reports, issued 38 papers on trade relations between the Kingdom and a number of countries, and submitted 37 papers containing the Chamber’s views on economic developments, in addition to providing 12,350 pieces of information to its members.
The Chamber also continued to support male and female entrepreneurs, with the Small and Medium Enterprises Center providing 351 consultations last year and organizing 95 specialized programs, workshops, and meetings aimed at developing entrepreneurs’ capabilities and enhancing their role in the national economy.
In the same context, the Asharqia Chamber Entrepreneurship Incubator organized 13 specialized lectures, workshops, and awareness meetings, benefiting 29 entrepreneurs who joined the Incubator during 2025.
On the empowerment of women in the business sector, the Women’s Empowerment Center carried out 186 programs and events benefiting 3,646 women, provided 101 information services related to economic activities, organized 77 meetings and lectures to support women with ideas and projects, and launched 25 initiatives and programs to empower women leaders.
In the field of human capital development, the Training and Leadership Development Center carried out 43 training and qualification programs last year, benefiting 1,113 male and female trainees, over 178 training days and 798 training hours.
The Employment Center also organized 6 recruitment meetings in 2025 in cooperation with a number of establishments, at which 1,806 jobs were offered with the participation of 51 companies. The Jobs Fair 2025, organized by the Chamber, saw more than 20,000 visitors competing for 6,700 job opportunities offered by 134 companies.
In the framework of strengthening international economic relations and attracting foreign investment, the Chamber received 26 diplomatic and trade delegations in which more than 200 foreign companies took part, while businessmen and businesswomen took part in 8 external events as part of official delegations, a step that reflects the Chamber’s keenness to expand its network of economic cooperation and strengthen the Kingdom’s presence globally.
The Chamber also continued to provide legal consultations to its members, handling 77 registered protest cases and arbitrating 4 cases amicably, in addition to receiving a number of cases and continuing to raise awareness of the importance of commercial arbitration.
At the conclusion of the Assembly’s proceedings, Al-Farraj valued the great support of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, for all the activities and initiatives launched by the Chamber, confirming His Highness’s keenness to care for the private sector, stand beside it, and open more horizons of work and investment before it. He also extended his thanks and gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, and commended the vital supporting role of His Excellency the Minister of Commerce, Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi. He also thanked the Chamber’s Board of Directors in its nineteenth term for the efforts that contributed to these achievements, and all the government entities, departments, and others that made prominent contributions and left clear marks on many of the projects the Chamber launched last year.
