The Asharqia Chamber Entrepreneurship Incubator has achieved a new milestone to add to its record of successes, at the 11th edition of the Global Startup Awards for the Middle East region, winning first place in the public vote and second place among incubators and accelerators in the Middle East, in the category of Best Accelerator Program “Business Incubator,” an achievement that reflects the advanced position the Incubator now holds on the entrepreneurship map.
The award is one of the most prominent global awards specializing in the entrepreneurship sector, with participants from more than 150 countries, and is granted to entrepreneurial programs and initiatives with a tangible impact in supporting and empowering entrepreneurs and startups. The current edition saw strong competition among more than five thousand participants, highlighting the scale of the challenge and the value of the Incubator’s achievement.
With this recognition, the Asharqia Chamber Incubator qualifies for the global finals, to be held in the Republic of Malta as part of the European Startup Summit, an anticipated global stage bringing together the elite of entrepreneurial programs from around the world.
For his part, Chairman of Asharqia Chamber’s Board of Directors Fahad bin Abdullah Al-Farraj expressed his pride in this achievement, affirming that the Chamber’s Incubator securing this advanced position reflects the quality of the programs and initiatives it offers to support entrepreneurs, and its keenness to adopt global best practices in incubation and acceleration.
Al-Farraj said that this recognition is the fruit of integrated institutional work and a strategic vision that seeks to empower entrepreneurs and stimulate the business environment in the Eastern Province, in line with the targets of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, noting that qualifying for the global finals strengthens the Kingdom’s presence at international forums concerned with entrepreneurship and innovation.
For his part, the Chamber’s Secretary-General Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Wabel affirmed that this achievement embodies the real impact the Incubator has made in supporting entrepreneurs, institutions, and startups, by providing an integrated system that includes mentoring, training, financing, and connecting entrepreneurs with investors and strategic partners, noting that over the past years the Incubator has been able to contribute to the growth of a number of promising projects.
He added that the strong competition the award witnessed, with the participation of thousands of programs and initiatives from around the world, reflects the level of excellence the Incubator has reached, affirming that the Chamber will continue to develop its programs and services in a way that enhances entrepreneurs’ competitiveness and consolidates the Eastern Province’s position as a vibrant hub for entrepreneurship and innovation.
This achievement is a new step in Asharqia Chamber’s journey toward supporting and empowering the small and medium enterprises sector, promoting a culture of innovation, and opening wider horizons for entrepreneurs to compete regionally and globally, contributing to sustainable economic development based on knowledge and creativity.
