Asharqia Chamber held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, the “Monthly Tuesday Meeting for the Business Sector,” which hosted the Director General of the Transport General Authority’s Eastern Province branch, Abdullah bin Sami Al-Yahya, to discuss the latest developments in the transport sector and opportunities for its development.
The meeting was moderated by the Chamber’s Secretary-General Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Wabel, in the presence of Chamber Board member Nasser bin Rashed Al Bajash Al-Hajri and a number of businessmen, businesswomen, specialists, and those interested in the transport sector. A number of themes related to investment opportunities and the challenges facing the sector were reviewed, in support of its growth and the enhancement of its efficiency.
The Transport General Authority is the regulatory and legislative authority for the land, maritime, and rail transport industry in the Kingdom, through its licensing of the various transport activities and its monitoring of service quality and safety in these vital activities. It also works to regulate and enable the smooth transport of passengers and goods in the fields of land, rail, and maritime transport. The Authority aims to provide an efficient, high-quality, and affordable transport environment, to adopt the latest technologies in the fields of transport and its regulation and monitoring, and to enhance investment opportunities in the Kingdom’s transport industry.
