The Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce received at its main headquarters in Dammam the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Kingdom, Mr. Charis Moritsis, who met with the First Vice Chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, in the presence of the Chamber’s Secretary-General, Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Wabel.
During the meeting, held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, the prospects of economic and trade cooperation between the Kingdom and Cyprus were discussed and reviewed, along with mechanisms to enhance communication between private sector representatives and the exchange of trade delegations to seize promising investment opportunities.
The First Vice Chairman of Asharqia Chamber’s Board of Directors, Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, explained that the Kingdom’s business sector looks forward to further growth and prosperity with the Cypriot side, drawing on the rich economic assets of the Eastern Province. Al-Khalidi noted that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries exceeded SAR 4.5 billion in 2025, pointing to the diversity of national exports from the Kingdom, which include mineral products, iron and steel and their derivatives, ships, boats, and floating structures, and stone products.
For his part, the Cypriot Ambassador to the Kingdom, Mr. Charis Moritsis, expressed his pride in the depth of Saudi-Cypriot relations and the remarkable development they have witnessed, the consolidation of the existing frameworks of cooperation between the two countries, and their expansion to include more fields. He affirmed that the leaderships of both countries seek to enable direct coordination between Saudi and Cypriot companies to ensure joint projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
