More than 2 billion riyals, the growth of the volume of projects at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam
The CEO of Dammam Airports Company (DACO), Eng. Mohammed bin Ali Al-Hasani, stressed during the monthly Tuesday meeting of businessmen at the Asharqia Chamber the importance of the role of the business sector as a key partner in national development projects, especially with the foundations of Saudi Vision 2030, in the developmental and economic fields, and an effective element in achieving them. Al-Hasani pointed out that there are investment opportunities available for investment in all shipping and logistics activities on an area estimated at 285 thousand square meters in the cargo village affiliated with King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, pointing to a number of investment opportunities for the business sector to implement these projects. Al-Hasani said during the meeting held on Tuesday evening, November 5, 2024, at the Chamber's main headquarters, in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Asharqia Chamber, Badr bin Suleiman Al-Rizaiza, and a significant number of business sector, specialists and interested parties, that the management of Dammam Airports Company seeks to achieve the highest and best standards to improve the beneficiary's experience in the airports affiliated with "DACO", as the growth in the volume of projects since last year has reached more than 685% with a total value exceeding 2.3 billion riyals in infrastructure improvement projects and the traveler's experience until 2027. While Al-Hasani explained during the meeting, which was managed by the Secretary-General of the Chamber, Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah Al-Wabil, that the airports affiliated with "DACO" have today become a basic pillar for the tourism sector in the Eastern Province, and an attraction factor that contributes to activating domestic tourism, through the development of air traffic, which achieves indirect investment opportunities for the private sector, through more than 49 available airlines. Al-Hasani explained that the cargo movement today reached more than 324 thousand tons, between land, sea and air, managed by 10 shipping companies, handling ground shipments, depositing and re-exporting, targeting an increase in air cargo movement to 600 thousand tons in 2030. Al-Hasani stated that the "DACO" strategy includes more than 74 initiatives in 6 paths until 2030, including upgrading air connectivity services, service excellence, development of assets and facilities, financial sustainability, human capital, and institutional excellence, to be a basic tributary for development in the Eastern Province in particular, and the Kingdom in general, looking forward to King Fahd International Airport achieving 19.3 million passengers by 2030 according to the targets of the National Aviation Plan.
