Asharqia Chamber Most Promising Entity Award

Introduction:

The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Center at Asharqia Chamber was established with the objective of strengthening the spirit of initiatives between the people of the Province as well as supporting an active and important economic sector, the small and medium enterprises. The Center aims to reach this objective by offering incentives and various programs, among them an award presented in the promising economic sectors in order to promote the society of initiators and business owners by working hand in hand to allow them to take more steps forward with greater success.

Objective of the Award:

Revitalizing the role that the small and medium enterprises play in supporting and promoting the national economy in general and the economy of the Eastern Province specifically.
Increasing the awareness of small and medium enterprise business owners and encouraging them to work at higher levels.
Promoting the concept of taking initiatives among the Saudi investors.
Supporting the small and medium enterprises on innovation, renewal, and creativity.
Encouraging the small and medium enterprises on playing a greater role in establishing the concept of Saudization in the Province.

Nature of the Award:

The award is presented to the best fifteen promising entities given to three entities across the five chosen sectors, in the form of a special shield from Asharqia Chamber to be presented in a special ceremony organized by Asharqia Chamber.

Intense promotion of the entity through the special media coverage of the award.
Recognition and publicity of the entity’s name in press releases.
Advertisement of the entity in the Al-Iktisaad magazine.
Displaying the entity’s logo inside and outside the Chamber.
Waiver of the Chamber’s registration fee for the period of one year.

Sectors Covered by the Award:

A neutral committee was formed for the award whereby the framework of the award was developed which included the selection of the economic sectors that are most likely to succeed and through competition, are able to produce higher growth. The committee chose the following sectors:

In the first round in 2006 the following sectors were chosen:

1- Building and Construction Sector

2- Metal Production Sector

3- Industrial Services and Maintenance Sector

4- Restaurant Sector

5- Food Production Sector

In the second round 2008 the following sectors were chosen:

1- Industrial Services Sector for Strategic Sectors (oil, gas, water,
2- electricity, petrochemicals).

3- Engineering Industry Sector

4- Wood Industry Sector

5- Plastic Industry Sector

6- Information Technology and Communications Sector
